Budget Hotels in Baltimore
Baltimore is frequently referred to as a “city of neighborhoods”. Baltimore, Maryland is a one of the countries major harbors located just outside of Washington, DC. And there are handful of cheap hotels in Baltimore. The city is made up of approximately 300 neighborhoods distinctly set apart, most commonly by ethnicity. The Inner Harbor is made up of three major neighborhoods, Fells Point, Little Italy, and Mt. Vernon, and is the area most often visited by tourists. The Inner Harbor is the area Baltimore that caters most of the city’s entertainment, arts, and culture. Fells Point is where entertainment can be found and was once a place for sailors to enjoy themselves. Mt. Vernon can be called the arts district and is home to a Washington Monument. This monument is dated before the well known monument in nearby Washington, DC.
Travelers to Baltimore visit the city for a variety of reasons. Whether you are traveling on business, for leisure, or are simply visiting Baltimore as a place to stay outside of DC, you will find an array of accommodation options. Baltimore is a common place for those visiting DC to overnight in. Baltimore is part of the Baltimore Washington Metropolitan Area making it a good choice for located lower hotel rates than in the district.
Because Baltimore is made up of so many different neighborhoods spread out among so much area, your first step in finding a budget hotel is to decide where it is you want to stay. There are nine regions that make up Baltimore: Northern, Northwestern, Northeastern, Western, Central, Eastern, Southern, Southwestern, and Southeastern. The Inner Harbor is the area most likely to see travelers, and therefore the hotel rates may be a bit higher than other city areas. However, that’s not to say that you can not find a budget hotel in the Inner Harbor. If business is your reason for visiting Baltimore, you may wish to stay in or near downtown.
