Budget Hotels in Tampa
If you are a frequent visitor to Florida for your summer vacations, but have done the Disney thing one too many times, perhaps you should check out Tampa. The second largest city in Florida, Tampa, has plenty to offer in the way of budget hotels in Tampa, theme parks, beaches, and history. That said, you should have no problem finding a budget hotel in Tampa. Other than the beach, some of the main things that bring visitors to Tampa each year include; Busch Gardens Africa, Adventure Island, Lowry Park Zoo, and Florida Aquarium. The theme parks are great, but if you want to see some of the “old Florida”, there are plenty of historic lighthouses, a historic downtown area, and much more.
Hotels in Tampa come in all shapes and sizes. Because Tampa is such a large city, there are plenty of hotels to choose from. There are a lot of luxury hotels, business traveler ready hotels, and plenty of family vacation friendly hotels. The business area of Tampa has plenty of more expensive hotels that are geared toward the business traveler. Many of these hotels are a little too expensive to be a budget hotel, but if you shop around you can probably find one for under a US$100 a night.
The true vacation hotels can be found closer to the major theme parks like Bush Gardens or the beaches. Because both Florida and Tampa are such popular tourist destinations, there are plenty of budget hotels to choose from. Many of the hotels around the parks and beaches are very family friendly. You would be hard pressed to find a hotel in Florida without a pool and many even have some sort of kids program during the busy summer months.
Some of the more popular budget hotels in the Tampa area include; Tampa Marriott Waterside, La Quinta Inn and Suites Tampa Bay USF, and Crowne Plaza East.
The Tampa Marriott Waterside is a little expensive compared to other budget hotels in the area, but is well worth the extra few bucks. It located right on the Channel Riverwalk and walking distance to a number of shops and restaurants. The La Quinta Inn and Suites Tampa Bay USF is perfect for both businesses and family travelers. It is close to the college and to Bush Gardens. Crowne Plaza East is a good deal for those who want to visit Busch Gardens & Adventure Island Theme Parks.
