Budget Hotels in Vancouver

Vancouver is one of Canada's largest cities, located in the lower mainland of British Columbia. The city has come a long way since its lumbering days over hundred years ago. Today, Vancouver is home to many things. The largest seaport in Canada is located in Vancouver; the seaport exports more cargo than any other port in North America. Aside from exports and budget hotels in Vancouver, Vancouver is rich in diversity. Over half of the millions of residents of Vancouver speak a first language other than English. The city is home to a beautiful skyline, rich in architecture, with Coast Mountains as a backdrop. The arts of Vancouver are blooming at an incredible rate as well as its entertainment industry and tourism.

Millions of visitors from far and wide visit Vancouver every year. Some visit the city with the intention of doing business while other visitors are there for sites and attractions. Vancouver and nearby Whistler (an area big in sky resorts) will host the 2010 winter Olympics. With this is mind, the city is and surrounding areas are likely to be doing a great deal for their tourist industry and accommodations. Whether on business or vacation, you are certain to quickly locate a luxury resort or budget friendly hotel.

If budget friendly hotel sits better with your bank account, you might have to look a little harder then those who prefer the penthouse. Vancouver has one of the highest cost of living in the world; this will be evident in your hotel search. As with anywhere else you visit, the first thing to think about is what is most important to you. Once you have decided what sites hold the highest priority to you, then its best to find a hotel nearest those attractions. Just because you are able to snag a great deal on the outskirts of town doesn't mean you will save any money; transportation is costly too.

Areas nearest the airport will have lower rates than those deep in the city. Hotels in between downtown Vancouver and Whistler may have low rates as well. Once you get too deep into either of the cities you will see an increase in rates. Remember that winter is a busy time of year for Vancouver and if this is when you plan to travel, its important to do you research early. In some places, its never too early to book a room.
